Day of Korean People’s Victory in War Marked Abroad

Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) — A seminar took place in Romania and meetings in Switzerland and Pakistan between July 20 and 22 to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of the Korean people’s victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

Exhibited at the venues of the functions were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

Vasile Orleanu, chairman of the Supreme Council of the Socialist Party of Romania who is also chairman of the National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea of Romania, noted that July 27 is a historic day when the Korean People’s Army and the Korean people achieved a brilliant victory in the war against the U.S. imperialists. The President, he added, created the Songun idea, built a solid military foundation firmly guaranteeing the independent policy and turned the DPRK into a powerful socialist country.

Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Swiss Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, addressing the meeting, said the heroic KPA and Korean people could beat back the aggression of the U.S. imperialists and achieve a brilliant victory and they owe this to the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung, the ever-victorious iron-willed commander.

Zabed Ansari, secretary general of the Karachi Branch of the Pakistan-Korea Friendship Association, said at the meeting that the world progressive people are greatly encouraged by the Korean people fighting staunchly on the forefront of the anti-U.S. struggle under the great Songun politics, and expressed the belief that the Korean people would surely emerge victorious in their struggle for global peace and security and the reunification of the country.

A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting held in Switzerland.
