Chief Coach of National Women’s Ice Hockey Team Appointed

Pyongyang, August 4 (KCNA) — Ri Won Son, a former ice hockey coach of Susansong Sports Group in the DPRK, was appointed as the chief coach of the National Women’s Ice Hockey Team.

He will lead the DPRK team for the World Women’s Ice Hockey Championships Div 2 to be held in 2007.

He took part in a lot of international ice hockey contests while being active as a tactful forward of the national team for ten years and contributed to his team winning good results.

He was awarded the technical prize of championships on three times and technical prize on 10 times at the World Ice Hockey Championships and selected as an Asian best player on two times.

He coached the DPRK women’s ice hockey team which had participated in the World Women’s Ice Hockey Championships on five times in the period from Juche 89 (2000) to Juche 94 (2005).
