Pyongyang, July 4 (KCNA) — The Sports Contest for Pochonbo Torch Cup, which was opened on June 4 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory in the historic Pochonbo battle commanded by President Kim Il Sung, came to an end.
Its participants competed in at least 10 events including football, swimming, archery, wrestling in Pyongyang, Hyesan, Phyongsong, Wonsan and other parts of the country.
Its closing ceremony was held at the Weightlifting Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on July 3.
It was attended by Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Jung Rin, officials concerned and sportspersons.
Cups and gold medals went to the men players of the Kigwancha Sports Group and the women players of the Rimyongsu Sports Group who placed first in football matches.
Mun Jae Dok, chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, made a closing address at the ceremony.
