DPRK Proves Successful in Figure Skating Competition

Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) — The DPRK won five medals, including three golds, in the figure-skating competition of the International Skating Union World Development Trophy 2014.

The competition was held divided into junior A and B classes and youth class.
Ro Hyang Mi, active in the Taesongsan Sports Team of the DPRK, came first in individual women’s junior A class by defeating her Philippine rival, a gold medal hopeful.
Ro Yong Myong of the Pyongyang Railway Bureau Sports Team and Kim Un Hyang of the Taesongsan Sports Team respectively finished first in individual men’s junior B class and individual women’s junior B class.
Meanwhile, Han Kum Chol of the Sports Team of Pyongyang Jang Chol Gu University of Commerce placed second and Han Kwang Bom of the Taesongsan Sports Team third in individual men’s youth class.
