Enlarged Plenary Meeting of Journalists Union Held

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) — The Central Committee of the Journalists Union of Korea held its enlarged plenary meeting in Pyongyang on Jan. 21.

Present at the meeting were members of the Central Committee of the journalist union, officials, journalists and media persons in the capital and provinces.
The meeting discussed the task to bring about a fresh change in the media work this year.
Chairman of the C.C., the Journalist Union of Korea Cha Sung Su made a report to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers said the mass media should produce a larger number of contemporary masterpieces which would make all the service personnel and people burn their hearts with enthusiasm for the revolution and for struggle in the run up to the Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, a turning point in accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.
They underscored the need to conduct active media campaign to usher in a new era of independent reunification and create the international atmosphere favorable for the Korean revolution and national reunification, thus displaying the faith, will, dignity and might of the great Paektusan nation.
They called upon all the media persons to bring about a radical turn in newspaper, news service, radio and publication this year with their brush and mike and discharge their duty and mission as the first-line detachment that carries out and defends the idea of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
