French Newspaper Calls for Respecting DPRK’s Firm Stance

Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) — The French newspaper Monde carried an article on the DPRK’s successful H-bomb test on Jan. 13.

The newspaper said:
The DPRK’s H-bomb test proved considerable progress made in its technology of developing nuclear weapons.
The DPRK codified its access to nuclear deterrent in its constitution.
From the viewpoint of the DPRK, nuclear deterrent is the only guarantee for ensuring the country’s security.
As a matter of fact, the U.S. will have to recognize the fact that the DPRK is a nuclear weapons state sooner or later.
In conclusion, it is unrealistic to urge the DPRK to dismantle its nuclear weapons as a precondition for the resumption of dialogue.
For success in any future negotiations, the U.S. will have to respect the DPRK’s firm stance on security assurances.
