Pyongyang, April 7 (KCNA) — The first round of the premier football league for the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games goes on at the May Day Stadium in Pyongyang.
Fourteen teams are competing in the men’s football matches on a round-robin basis, which began on March 10.
According to an official of the DPRK Football Association, the ongoing matches are characterized by quicker attack and more skilled and diverse tactics than the past.
A total of 63 matches have taken place so far, scoring 180 goals in all.
As of April 5, the April 25 team placed first with 8 wins and one defeat, followed by the Kigwancha and Ryomyong teams.
The men’s premier league matches will last until April 21.
Meanwhile, taking the lead in the women’s premier league are Ryongaksan, Sobaeksu and Naegohyang teams.
