Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) — The National Martial Art Championship for Mangyongdae Prize closed with due ceremony at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Friday.
Players displayed the special skills they cultivated in their day-to-day trainings at the championship, producing many promising players.
In the Taekwon-Do event, the Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do Team placed first in team standing.
Choe Hyon Il (man) and Sin Jong Hwa (woman), players of the Taekwon-Do Team of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, were awarded individual technical prizes.
Men players of the South Hamgyong Provincial Taekwon-Do Team and women players of the Pyongyang City Taekwon-Do Team came first in the group sparring matches.
In the Paduk games, the South Hamgyong Provincial Taekwon-Do Team came first.
Present at the closing ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea who doubles as chairman of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, officials concerned, players, coaches and working people in the city.
