Koreans Significantly Mark Day of Sun

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) — The army and people of the DPRK significantly marked the auspicious Day of the Sun, the greatest national holiday (the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung).

Huge crowds of people visited the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun where President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il lie in state.
The visitors paid tribute, looking up to the portraits of the smiling great leaders.
Service personnel and people of all social standings including youths and students also visited statues and portraits of the smiling great leaders on Mansu Hill and other parts of the country and paid tribute to them.
The venues of the 18th Kimilsungia Festival in Pyongyang and the provincial Kimilsungia exhibitions were also crowded with visitors.
Performances were given at theatres, cultural halls and open-air stages in Pyongyang and provinces, adding to the festive mood.
Dancing parties of youths and students and members of the women’s union were held in different parts of the country.
Diverse celebrations including art performances were also held at factories, farms and construction sites across the country.
Lots of pupils joined the Korean Children’s Union.
Public catering network in Pyongyang and other parts of the country were lively with working people.
