S. Koreans Demand Closure of U.S. Forces’ Shooting Range

Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) — More than 300 south Korean residents near the shooting range of the U.S. forces in Phochon City, Kyonggi Province held a meeting in the Changsu-myon area of the city in protest against the drill for a war against the north, according to the south Korean Yonhap News on April 16.

They deplored that residents in Phochon are seized with uneasiness due to noise and danger of bullets and shells frequently flying into the village during day and night firing drills.
Nevertheless, the “government” and the U.S. forces side do not take security measures, they protested, expressing the will to launch an action for the closure of the shooting range.
They demanded the authorities guarantee security of the residents in Phochon and compensate for the damage.
