Russian Website Introduces Mt. Chilbo, Famous Mountain of DPRK

Pyongyang, May 2 (KCNA) — Online news agency Vlad News of Russia posted an article and photos introducing the area of Mt. Chilbo in the DPRK on April 27.

The article titled “The area of Mt. Chilbo, the world biosphere sanctuary” said:
Mt. Chilbo on the east coast of Korea is one of six famous mountains in Korea for its kaleidoscopic views.
The area was registered as a world biosphere sanctuary in 2014 and it covers 250 square kilometers and it is very big value to protect it.
More than 40 percent of the species of the country’s animals and birds inhabit in the mountain favorable in terms of geographical location and rich in food.
Not a few historical remains and relics showcasing the long history of the Korean nation have been discovered to be preserved in this area.
Rich animals and plants and specialties in the area of big economic significance are greatly conducive to improving the living standard of the inhabitants in the area.
