Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) — The Japan Committee for the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea on April 19 issued a statement in denunciation of the Japanese authorities’ persecution of Korean residents in Japan.
The statement recalled that shortly after a great quake jolted the Kumamoto area, wild rumors stirring up bitterness towards Koreans were afloat in Japan at the tacit connivance of the Japanese government and under its patronage while nonsensical articles claiming that “Koreans in Kumamoto poisoned wells” were posted on websites.
It hit out at the government’s move to suspend the payment of subsidies to the Korean schools.
It noted that the committee will struggle for checking the government’s outrageous moves and boost the ties with the Koreans in Japan.
