Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Democratic Women’s Union of Korea, in a statement on Sunday noted that supreme leader Kim Jong Un’s indication of the line and policies for national reunification at the Seventh Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) was an event in the nation’s history as they provided a fresh turning occasion in realizing the cause of independent reunification.
Receiving the tasks for national reunification set forth by Kim Jong Un at the Seventh Congress of the WPK as important guidelines and immortal banner that clearly indicated the path for achieving independent reunification, peace and prosperity by the concerted efforts of all Koreans, the chairwoman enthusiastically supported them reflecting the mind of all members of the women’s union and other women.
To defuse the danger of a war and tensions and create a peaceful environment is a fundamental precondition for reunifying the country, she said, adding:
All the Korean women at home and abroad who oppose war and aspire after peace and reunification will have to wage a high-pitched campaign for peace against war to frustrate war drills and arms buildup of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities that seriously threaten the destiny of the fellow countrymen and create obstacles to the improvement of the north-south relations.
Taking ourselves of this opportunity, we ardently call on the women of various circles in south Korea to take the lead in carrying out the most and reasonable reunification proposal of the WPK that reflects the will and wishes of all Koreans for reunification and paving the path for reunification by getting firmly united under the banner of By Our Nation Itself.
All the women in the DPRK will fulfill their responsibility and duty in the sacred patriotic cause of building a dignified and prospering reunified power, cherishing deep the great pride and self-confidence of being led by Kim Jong Un, the sun of the nation and lodestar for national reunification.
