Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) — There were meetings, photo and book exhibitions and film shows in Switzerland and Sweden and a lecture and film show in Nigeria on June 10 and 11 to mark the 52nd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il’s start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the 16th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
Displayed at the venues were photos showing the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.
Also displayed there were their works and books and photos introducing the DPRK.
Korean films including “Mirae Scientists Street” were shown at the film shows.
Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, said that Kim Jong Il performed immortal exploits for strengthening the WPK by conducting outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and leading it energetically. He provided the historic north-south summit in June 2000 and made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration was adopted, he noted.
Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, stressed that Kim Jong Il developed in depth the revolutionary idea, Juche idea founded by the President, developed the WPK into an ideologically pure entity, an integral organization and strengthened the single-minded unity of the revolutionary forces.
Ahmed Blaza Lawan, chairman of the Nigerian Group for the Study of the Songun Politics, said in a lecture that Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into the mother party which is responsible for the people’s destiny and takes care of them and provided the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, making an immortal contribution to the cause of national reunification.
Congratulatory messages to Kim Jong Un were adopted at the events held in Switzerland and Sweden.
