Anniversary of June 15 Joint Declaration Observed by Foreigners

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) — Ugandan and Beninese figures released statements on June 13 to mark the 16th anniversary of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Daniel Rugarama, chairman of the Ugandan National Executive Committee of the Pan-African Movement, said:
The great HE Kim Jong Il saw to it that a historic north-south summit was provided in June, 2000 and the June 15 joint declaration whose core is By Korean Nation Itself was adopted to be a landmark for Korea’s reunification.
We send full support to the Korean people’s just cause to achieve the national reunification by the concerted efforts of the nation.
For the reunification of Korea no acts against the June 15 joint declaration should be allowed.
A new line and policies for national reunification clarified by HE Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), at the Seventh Congress of the WPK are, indeed, the most just and realistic.
Hessou Kohovi, chairman of the Benin-Korea Amicable Association “Long Live Kim Jong Il, Supreme Leader” who doubles as chairman of the Benin National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, said:
A shortcut to putting an end to the inter-Korean confrontation and achieving national reunification at an early date is to implement the June 15 joint declaration whose validity and vitality are clearly proven in practice.
Kim Jong Un advanced a new line and policies for national reunification at the WPK Seventh Congress to tide over the difficulties and comprehensively indicated the ways to do so.
His line and policies are an encyclopedic great programme for national reunification which gives perfect answers to all the issues arising in fundamentally improving the inter-Korean relations and opening a broad avenue to national reunification.
The south Korean authorities should respect and thoroughly implement the inter-Korean joint declarations.
