Pyongyang, June 30 (KCNA) — The Korean Documentary and Science Film Studio marked its 70th founding anniversary.
The studio is a national treasure where the courses covered by the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the DPRK are vividly recorded on videos.
President Kim Il Sung guided the work for producing the first documentary film of new Korea “Our Construction” just after the liberation of the country and declared the founding of the studio on July 1, Juche 35 (1946) when the filming finished.
Leader Kim Jong Il gave perfect answers to the theoretical and practical issues arising in producing the documentary and science films ranging from principles of creation and film-making system of the studio to process of creation, guided thousands of films and made sure that every film recorded the history of the WPK and served as powerful weapons actively contributing to the party’s ideological work and the economic and cultural construction.
Over the past 70 years after its founding, the studio has developed into the reliable group of making films under the leadership of the WPK, successfully fulfilling its mission of recording the revolutionary activities of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu.
A meeting to mark the anniversary was held at the People’s Palace of Culture on Thursday.
