Vacuum Casting Method Developed in DPRK

Pyongyang, November 17 (KCNA) — The High-tech Exchange Company of Kim Il Sung University has developed a vacuum casting method based on combustion of foamed-plastic mold.

This method helps improve the quality of casting of various sizes and shapes as the mold is made with foamed plastics and dry-sand, unlike sand mold.
The company laid foundations for applying the method in different economic sectors.
The new casting method is of economic value as it raises the quality of casting two or three times with less manpower, electricity and raw materials.
