Pyongyang, December 1 (KCNA) — A DPRK party and state delegation led by Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, arrived in Havana Tuesday to mourn the death of Fidel Castro Ruz, supreme leader of the Cuban revolution.
It was greeted at the airport by Elba Rosa Montoya, minister of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, and DPRK Ambassador to Cuba Pak Chang Yul.
Elba Rosa Montoya noted that supreme leader Kim Jong Un personally visited the Cuban Embassy in Pyongyang to express condolences over the death of Fidel Castro Ruz and saw to it that a mourning period was set to share the sorrow with the Cuban people. This gives great courage and strength to the Cuban party, government and people, she said.
Saying that the Cuban people are in grief over the loss of their outstanding leader for the first time after the victory in the revolution, she expressed heartfelt thanks for the DPRK party and state delegation’s visit to Cuba across the continents and the ocean to attend the funeral ceremony.
