DPRK’s Army and People Honor Memory of Kim Jong Il in Humblest Reverence

Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) — The army and people of the DPRK honored the memory of leader Kim Jong Il who dedicated his whole life to the party and revolution, the country and its people in the humblest reverence on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of his demise.

The service personnel, people of various circles and school youth and children entered the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, on the greatest memorial day of the nation and paid tribute to the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
Service personnel, people of various circles and school youth and children visited the statues of the great leaders in various parts of the country to pay tribute to them.
Remembrance concerts were given by artistes, youth and students and members of the women’s union in South Phyongan, North Hamgyong, South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces and Kaesong City.
Performers highly praised the revolutionary history and exploits of Kim Jong Il who made long journeys for dedication to the country and its people till the last moments of his great life.
Remembrance meetings of youth and students, and those persons who had the honor of being received by Kim Jong Il and persons related to his revolutionary activities took place in various parts of the country.
Working people’s organizations across the country held oath-taking meetings.
