Pyongyang, December 22 (KCNA) — The second plenary meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) was held here on Thursday.
Present there were members of the UAWK Central Committee.
The meeting discussed the task facing the union organizations to carry through the tasks set forth in “On Improving the Role of the UAWK in Accomplishing the Juche-Oriented Socialist Cause”, a historic letter sent by supreme leader Kim Jong Un to those attending the 8th Congress of the UAWK.
Ri Myong Gil, chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a report to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers said Kim Jong Un’s letter serves as a great programme for modeling the union on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and a militant banner for encouraging officials and members of the union and other agricultural workers to the building of a powerful socialist country.
They stressed the need to conduct the building of the union and its activities the way the great leaders did and strengthen it into a union of the great leaders and the party, holding fast to the modeling of the whole union on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as its general purpose and task.
They also said that the monolithic leadership system of Kim Jong Un should be thoroughly established in the union and all the union organizations should be turned into powerful militant organizations sharing the idea, breath and footsteps with the Party Central Committee and successfully carrying out their revolutionary duties.
They called upon all members of the union to fulfill their mission as reliable helper and defender of the Party, holding fast to Kim Jong Un’s letter as the guidelines.
