Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) — The National Martial Art Championship for Mangyongdae Prize opened in Pyongyang to celebrate the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.
Attending it are more than 600 men and women players selected from 20-odd organizations including Taekwon-Do teams across the country. They will compete in Taekwon-Do, go and other events at the Holy Taekwon-Do Hall.
The opening ceremony took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street on Wednesday.
Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea, vice-chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, officials concerned, players, coaches and citizens.
Kim Kyong Ho, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, made an opening address.
After the ceremony there were demonstrations by players of the Taekwon-Do team of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.
