Pyongyang, March 30 (KCNA) — Koreans in Europe released an appeal on March 28 calling for building a new society where the Koreans can achieve peaceful reunification in the spirit of candlelight actions, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Jaju Sibo.
The appeal recalled that Koreans in Germany have struggled for the democratization of the south Korean society and the peaceful reunification of the country for more than four decades since they conducted the democratic movement against the Park Chung-Hee’s military dictatorial regime in the 1970s.
It called for liquidating political, social and economic evils that had persisted for over half a century and building a harmonious society for the people by dint of candlelight actions.
It said that the way for the nation to live is only national reconciliation and reunification, stressing the need to rapidly press forward the repeal of “Security Law,” south-north reconciliation and visits, removal of the danger of war and shaping of line of independent reunification.
