Agricultural Workers Meet

Sariwon, April 7 (KCNA) — Agricultural workers and members of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK) met at the Migok Cooperative Farm in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province Friday to celebrate the 24th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il’s election as chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

Kim Chang Yop, chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers said that Kim Jong Il’s history of nation-building is shining with his undying feats as he explored a new way of building a socialist state in the era of Songun, guided by his original Songun revolutionary idea, and established the state machinery with the national defence as a pivot, thus turning the DPRK into a great power of independence.
Kim Jong Il unrolled a new history of agricultural revolution on this land with his tireless energetic leadership, they said, adding:
He saw to it that the UAWK defended and added luster to President Kim Il Sung’s ideas and exploits for the socialist rural construction and creditably fulfilled its mission as an organization for ideological education.
Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un is creditably carrying forward and developing Kim Jong Il’s idea and cause of nation-building.
They underscored the need to make positive contributions to improving the standard of people’s living and bringing earlier the victory of building an economic power by winning a signal victory on the agricultural front this year of weighty importance in implementing the five-year strategy for national economic development under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
