Tablets to Honor Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il Unveiled in Russia

Pyongyang, April 15 (KCNA) — Tablets to honor President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il were unveiled with due ceremony at Leningrad Metal Factory in Sankt-Peterburg City of Russia on April 10 on the occasion of the Day of the Sun.

Engraved on the tablets are Korean and Russian letters reading “Comrade Kim Il Sung, president of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited Leningrad Metal Factory on Oct. 24, 1961” and “Comrade Kim Jong Il, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, visited Leningrad Metal Factory on Aug. 6, 2001”.
Present at the unveiling ceremony were the representative of the Foreign Ministry to Sankt-Peterburg Region and other personages and citizens of Russia and the DPRK ambassador to this country and officials concerned.
Congratulatory speeches were made at the ceremony.
The speakers said it is a happy event for all the citizens and the city administration to unveil those tablets showing the feats of the great leaders, adding that the ceremony would mark a significant occasion in further consolidating the long-standing friendship between the two peoples.
They warmly congratulated all the Korean people on the 105th birth anniversary of the President and heartily hoped that all things would go well in the DPRK under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.
The participants in the ceremony laid a floral basket and bouquets before the tablets.
