Pyongyang, April 18 (KCNA) — The 19th Kimilsungia Festival was opened at the Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Exhibition here to mark the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung (April 15) and many people visit the exhibition every day.
Tens of thousands of potted Kimilsungias, flower of the sun, were presented to the festival by more than 80 units including armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions, service personnel, citizens, school youth and children, overseas compatriots and foreigners.
According to Rim Yong Gum, head of an office of the Korea Kimilsungia-Kimjongilia Committee, over 600 potted Kimilsungias were sent to the festival by organizations of overseas compatriots like the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, individual overseas Koreans and foreigners.
What draws attention of visitors is a stand decorated by Indonesia with some 100 potted Kimilsungias and a photo of President Kim Il Sung meeting former Indonesian President Sukarno in Bogor Botanical Garden.
Seen in the venue of the festival are potted Kimilsungias displayed on behalf of the president of the Syrian Arab Republic, the president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and 30 foreign embassies and missions of international bodies here.
On display at the festival are also potted Kimilsungias sent by more than 50 friendship and solidarity organizations, including the Russian Group for Solidarity with the DPRK and the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, individual foreigners and travel companies of different countries.
