Meetings Held Abroad to Celebrate Day of Sun

Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) — Meetings were held in Cuba, Laos, Myanmar and South Africa on April 6-11 to celebrate the Day of the Sun, the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Present there were personages of various strata and popular masses of those countries and the ambassadors and staff members of DPRK embassies.
The chairperson of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea’s Reunification noted that Fidel Castro Ruz and Kim Il Sung wisely led the struggle against the U.S. imperialists, common enemy of the two countries, and strengthened the bilateral friendship.
Saying that Kim Il Sung had led the socialist cause in the DPRK to victory, the chairperson declared that they would strive to further develop the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and conduct vigorous solidarity activities for support to Korea’s reunification.
A vice-chairman of the C.C., National Construction Front of Laos said that Kim Il Sung is a great leader who liberated Korea and built the first people’s country in the East and a close friend who rendered material and moral assistance to the struggle of the Lao people.
A vice-chairman of the Yangon Regional Executive Committee of the Myanmar’s National League for Democracy said that the President is always remembered by the progressive humankind as he performed gigantic feats for the cause of global independence.
A congratulatory message to respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting in South Africa.
