S. Koreans Call for Peace and Improved South-North Relations

Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) — The North Jolla Provincial Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration called a press conference on April 24 to announce a declaration signed by 12 105 citizens in the province demanding peace of the Korean peninsula and the improvement of the south-north relations, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Tongil News.

The declaration called for making the upcoming “presidential election” a turning point for abolishing evils and building a new society in the spirit of candlelight actions.
It stressed the need to inherit and implement the inter-Korean agreements including the July 4 South-North Joint Statement, the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, immediately resume the operation of Kaesong Industrial Park and tour of Mt Kumgang, suspend the deployment of THAAD, conclude a peace accord and abolish the “Security Law”.
It urged all the political parties and “presidential” candidates to come out for peace of the peninsula and improvement of the south-north relations.
