S. Korean Christians Protest THAAD Deployment, Escalation of Tension

Pyongyang, April 28 (KCNA) — The south Korean Council of Christian Churches in a statement on April 26 censured the U.S. and the puppet military authorities for deploying THAAD, according to CBS of south Korea.

Noting that the U.S. brought THAAD hardware all of a sudden into Songju Golf Course, the statement branded it as an act of war against the people.
It urged “presidential” candidates to voice definite opposition to THAAD deployment and not to sidestep it.
Earlier on April 24, the organization held a joint press conference with the Christian organization in the U.S. and sent an urgent letter demanding a stop to THAAD deployment and the moves of escalating tension on the Korean peninsula to the U.S. president and the acting president of south Korea.
The urgent letter called for withdrawal of all the military steps fostering the south-north confrontation and immediate negotiations between the DPRK and the U.S. for conclusion of a peace accord and denuclearization of the peninsula.
