External Construction Guidance Bureau Marks Its 40th Birthday

Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) — The External Construction Guidance Bureau of the DPRK marked its 40th founding anniversary.

President Kim Il Sung organized the first external construction company on May 6, Juche 66 (1977) and saw to it that measures were taken for waging the external construction in a bold and big way.
Leader Kim Jong Il settled problems arising in developing the external construction in depth and led the work to orderly set the training system for the external constructors as required by the developing reality and wage the external construction in a unified way.
Over the past four decades the bureau has made positive contributions to raising the external authority of the country and ushering in a period of great prosperity in construction, true to the Juche-based external construction policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).
A meeting was held on Friday to mark the anniversary.
Attending it were Kim Phyong Hae, vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Ryong Nam, vice-premier, officials concerned and officials and employees of the bureau.
