Russian Embassy Officials Lay Wreaths before Liberation Tower

Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) — Officials of the Russian embassy here laid a wreath before the Liberation Tower on Tuesday on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Russia’s victory in the great Patriotic War.

Present at a wreath-laying ceremony were Ambassador Alexandr Matsegora and officials of the Russian embassy and diplomatic envoys and military attaches of foreign embassies here.
A wreath in the name of the Russian embassy was placed and the participants observed a moment’s silence in memory of the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army.
The embassy officials also laid a wreath and bouquets at the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District of Pyongyang.
Earlier, they placed bouquets before the liberation towers, statues of Soviet soldiers, cemeteries of fallen Soviet soldiers and memorial towers for them in provinces.
Meanwhile, the members of the Russian consulate general in Chongjin laid bouquets at the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Chongjin City.
