DPRK Foreign Ministry Director Meets Counterpart of Austria

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) — Kim Son Kyong, director of the European Affairs Department No. 2 of the DPRK Foreign Ministry on a visit to Austria, had a talk with Gabriele Meon Tschurrtz, head of Asia and Pacific Department of its Foreign Ministry, on May 18.

The DPRK side informed the Austrian side of the DPRK’s consistent stand to further develop the relations between the two countries and stressed that to terminate the U.S. hostile policy and nuclear threat to the DPRK is fundamental to the solution of the Korean peninsula issue.
The Austrian side said that it deemed it a pride to have contributed to realizing dialogue and cooperation between the DPRK and EU and expressed the will to steadily conduct bilateral exchange and cooperation in various fields including education and culture.
It also stated that the Korean peninsula issue should be solved peacefully through dialogue, hoping for the detente on the peninsula.
