Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) — Organic fertilizers have been widely introduced into the agricultural sector of the DPRK.
Among them is blue-green algae bio-fertilizer. The bioactivity fertilizer raises the content of useful ingredients needed for the growth of crops by multiplying blue-green algae in soil.
Last year alone, the Kisang Co-op Farm in Yonggwang County, South Hamgyong Province and the township co-op farm in Kangryong County, South Hwanghae Province introduced the fertilizer, thus boosting their grain output.
Now the fertilizer is widely being introduced in many co-op farms as it increases the fertility of soil and sharply reduces the amount of consumption of chemical fertilizers. They include the Jangchon Vegetable Cooperative Farm in Sadong District, Pyongyang and co-op farms in Pukchong County of South Hamgyong Province, Kilju County of North Hamgyong Province, Phyongwon County of South Phyongan Province, Pakchon County of North Phyongan Province and Singye County of North Hwanghae Province.
