Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) — Koreans in Europe met in Germany on May 19-21 to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the Kwangju Popular Uprising, according to Minjok Tongsin, an internet paper of Koreans in the U.S.
They honored the memory of the Kwangju uprisers who fell in the resistance against the Chun Doo Hwan military fascist clique, calling for independence, democracy and reunification.
They watched a documentary film on the Kwangju uprising and heard lectures.
The participants made public a statement.
The statement expressed the will of Koreans in Europe to fully support the struggle for genuine democracy in south Korea.
