Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) — Kim Son Gyong, general director of the European Department 2 of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK, on June 1 met and had a talk with Pekka Haavisto, member of the Parliament of Finland and president of the European Peace Institute, at the building of the Parliament of Finland.
Kim Son Gyong informed the Finnish side of the DPRK’s stand on the relations between the two countries. He stressed that the U.S. hostile policy and military threats to the DPRK should be removed, first of all, for the defusing of the tension on the Korean peninsula.
Pekka Haavisto said that the European Peace Institute is making efforts to find out a way to contribute to defusing tension on the Korean peninsula and providing the atmosphere of dialogue.
He expressed the will to make efforts to promote the exchange and cooperation between the European Peace Institute and the Korea-Europe Institute and develop the relations between Finland and other European countries and the DPRK.
