Pyongyang, June 14 (KCNA) — An event took place at the People’s Palace of Culture here on Wednesday to observe World Blood Donor Day.
Present there were officials in the field of public health and relevant units and voluntary blood donors, the acting representative of the WHO and staff members of the missions of international organizations in the DPRK and a delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies working in the DPRK.
Speakers expressed thanks to the blood donors and mentioned the successes and experience gained in the field of blood transfusion.
They said that they would intensify the work to make more people take part in the blood donation in conformity with the theme set forth by the WHO for this year.
The participants watched a video and looked round photos on display before enjoying a performance of the Central Art Squad.
Similar events were also held in all provinces.
