Pyongyang, June 15 (KCNA) — Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un received a letter from the General Association of Koreans in China on Thursday, the 17th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.
The letter said the Association and all Koreans in China extend high tribute to the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il who provided the historic north-south summit in Pyongyang and made public the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration to pave an avenue for the nation toward independent reunification.
The letter went on:
The declaration instilled bright hope and confidence in national reunification into all Koreans, and it is still shedding its rays as the great programme of the nation for reunification which ushered in a new era of reunification for the first time in the history of national division.
The more desperate moves of the traitors, seized with sycophancy toward big powers, confrontation with the compatriots and “unification by absorption”, against the DPRK and reunification, and increasing danger of north-targeted nuclear war only have made all Koreans more deeply realize how valuable the June 15 era of reunification was and stage more dynamic struggle to preserve and give steady continuity to the era, and it has become an unquenchable desire of all Koreans.
Now all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad are filled with the pride and honor of holding you as the father of the nation and are full of enthusiasm to surely bring about a decisive turn in the drive for national reunification earlier by implementing the north-south joint declarations provided by leader Kim Jong Il.
The officials of the association and all Koreans in China will devote themselves to the patriotic struggle for ushering in a new era of independent reunification, peace and prosperity with the faith that reunification is sure to come under the guidance of Marshal Kim Jong Un, the letter stressed.
