Papers Call for Campaign to Prevent Drought Damage

Pyongyang, June 23 (KCNA) — DPRK’s leading newspapers Friday editorially call upon the whole country to turn out in a campaign to prevent drought damage.

Noting that a long spell of drought and heat temperature is adversely affecting crop growth, Rodong Sinmun says:
The campaign to prevent drought damage is a battle to defend the Party Central Committee and the dignity of socialist country.
How to overcome the drought damage is a vital issue to attain the grain production target, set forth by the Party, and speed up the victorious advance of socialism while foiling the hostile forces’ moves to stifle the DPRK.
It is the revolutionary nature and fighting spirit of the Korean army and people to respond to the Party’s call with devotion and practice.
All the officials, party members and other people should cherish the Party’s call in their minds with patriotism and loyalty and give full rein to their devoted and strong fighting spirit in the campaign to prevent drought damage.
Minju Joson calls on all the people to turn out in the anti-draught campaign and glorify this year of epochal significance in carrying out the five-year strategy for national economic development with increased grain production.
