Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) — Pyongyang City channels big efforts into watering paddy and dry fields, as part of the nationwide campaign for preventing drought damage.
On the basis of detailed survey of those drought-stricken or vulnerable fields, the city rural economy committee has taken due measures to flow them.
And cooperative farms in the city are pushing ahead with the weeding, plowing and spraying foliar nutrients.
All the industrial establishments in the city have also turned out in watering cultivated lands by mobilizing manpower and water-supply wagons.
Its districts, counties and cooperative farms have pushed forward such projects for securing water resources as building dammed pools, enlarging small reservoirs and repairing or digging wells and tube-wells, while keeping all mobile water pumps in full-capacity operation.
Meanwhile, irrigation management stations are taking good care of irrigation facilities and structures.
Particularly, the cooperative farms in Mangyondae District and Ryokpho District have made achievements in overcoming drought by making effective use of water pumps and introducing new irrigation methods.
