Month of Solidarity with Korean People Opens in Cuba

Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) — The month of solidarity with the Korean people opened in Cuba with due ceremony on June 25.

On display at the venue of the ceremony were photos showing the exploits of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.
Present there were officials of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea’s Reunification, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and the Cuba-Korea Friendship Poultry-stock Breeding Farm and popular masses and the DPRK ambassador to Cuba and staff members of his embassy.
Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea’s Reunification, said:
June 25, 1950 the U.S. imperialists ignited a war against the young DPRK.
The Korean army and people heroically fought to defend the country under the wise guidance of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung.
On July 27, 1953, the U.S. imperialists could not but sign the Korean Armistice Agreement after suffering a disgraceful defeat for the first time in their history of aggression.
The Korean people brought about the beginning of a downhill turn for the U.S. imperialists.
The Cuban people extend full support and solidarity to the just cause of the Korean people who have turned out in the struggle for independent reunification of the country under the guidance of Supreme Leader Comrade Kim Jong Un, true to the behests of the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
The Korean people will surely achieve the reunification of the country by the concerted efforts of the nation without foreign interference.
Then, the participants watched a Korean film “Chieftain of the Korean War”.
