Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) — Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Monday sent messages of greeting to the state leaders of ASEAN countries to mark the 50th founding anniversary of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).
They included the presidents of Indonesia, Vietnam and Laos, the king of Cambodia, the president of Myanmar, the king of Thailand, the 15th king of Malaysia, the president of Singapore and the sultan and state leader of Brunei Darussalam and the president of Philippines.
Kim in the messages said that ASEAN is making a lot of successes in building and further developing the political security, economy and social and cultural community while ensuring the regional lasting peace and stability through the joint efforts of its member nations.
He wished the ASEAN countries bigger successes in their work, expressing belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and ASEAN and its member nations would grow stronger.
