Memorial Service Held for Korean Victims of Forcible Drafting by Japanese Imperialists

Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) — A memorial service for the Korean victims of forcible drafting by the Japanese imperialists took place at the memorial to the victims in Kooriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan on Aug. 6.

The event was sponsored by the Fukushima Prefectural Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) and the Fukushima Prefectural People’s Council for Japan-Korea Friendship.
Attending it were officials of Chongryon and compatriots and students and members of Japanese social organizations.
They paid silent tribute to the victims.
Speakers said that the memorial should be symbolic of remembering the victims and preventing the recurrence of the tragedy.
