National Folk Music Contests of Popular Art Field Held

Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) — A national folk music contest of popular art field was held in Pyongyang.

The contest brought together more than 300 members of art squads of Pyongyang City, Kangwon Province, South Hamgyong Province and South Hwanghae Province, members of the city and county mobile art squads and members of art circles active in factories, enterprises and co-op farms, who won at city, county, provincial and district contests that began from August 7.
There were performances given by organizations which took part in the contests at the People’s Palace of Culture and the Central Hall of Workers on August 10 and 11.
Put on the stage were songs praising the undying feats of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and their noble traits of loving the people and folk songs and folk dances of various genres which help enshrine the Korean nation-first spirit.
Among the audience were working people in the city.
