DPRK Players Back Home

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) — DPRK players returned home Friday after taking part in the 10th Asian Acrobatic Gymnastic Championship.

Taking part in the championship held in Kazakhstan from September 17 to 19 were more than 150 men and women players from different countries and region.
Jong Kum Hwa and Pyon Yun Ae of the DPRK grabbed gold medal again at senior women’s duet etude as they did in the 9th championship.
Thus the DPRK women players emerged triple gold medalists of the championship in this category.
Kong Yong Won and Ri Hyo Song bagged gold medals at senior men’s duet etude.
Kim Phyong Hae, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ri Il Hwan, department director of the WPK Central Committee, Jon Kwang Ho, vice-premier of the Cabinet, and Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, and officials concerned greeted the players and coaches at Pyongyang Railway Station.
Sportspersons put fragrant garlands around the necks of the successful players and coaches and presented bunches of flowers to them.
The players were warmly welcomed by citizens along streets of the city.
They laid bouquets before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill before paying tribute to them.
