Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) — Fireworks were displayed in the capital city of Pyongyang and provinces of the DPRK in celebration of the 20th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il’s election as general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Banks of the River Taedong centering around Kim Il Sung Square and the Tower of the Juche Idea in Pyongyang were crowded with people from all walks of life and school youth and children on Sunday evening to see the fireworks.
Fireworks went off in the sky above Pyongyang amid the playing of songs “General Kim Jong Il, Peerless Patriot” and “Might of Korea”.
Spectacular fireworks-display was an expression of eternal glory to leader Kim Jong Il and an eruption of the Korean people’s ardent loyalty to him.
On the same day, fireworks were displayed in Phyongsong, Sinuiju and other provincial seats, too.
