Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) — A joint meeting of Nordic progressive political parties and friendly organizations took place in Sweden on October 7 to celebrate the 72nd founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
On display at its venue was an art piece depicting President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and photos showing their revolutionary careers and exploits.
There were also their works and books and photos introducing the achievements made by the Korean army and people in building a powerful socialist nation.
Present at the meeting were personages and members of Swedish, Danish and Finnish progressive political parties, organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and Juche idea study organizations, and the DPRK ambassador to Sweden and his embassy officials.
The participants laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the art piece depicting the great leaders and paid tribute to them.
Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, said that the WPK was founded on October 10, 1945 but its historic roots were provided during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle led by Kim Il Sung and that the WPK has led the Korean people’s struggle to victory for more than 70 years.
Anders Kristensen, chairman of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, mentioned the history of the WPK which has always emerged victorious under the guidance of the peerlessly great men.
A solidarity statement was issued to support the Korean people’s just cause.
The participants watched the Korean film “Grand Celebration of 70th Founding Anniversary of Workers’ Party of Korea in Presence of Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un”.
