U.S. Defense Secretary’s S. Korea Visit Protested

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) — Civic and public organizations of south Korea on Oct. 27 conducted anti-U.S., anti-war actions with regard to the U.S. defense secretary’s visit to south Korea, according to Yonhap News of south Korea.

The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification launched a demonstration outside the Chongwadae in denunciation of the moves for building up the U.S.-Japan-south Korea tripartite military alliance.
Demonstrators said that all the issues to be discussed in the annual security consultative meeting were to introduce south Korea into the U.S. strategy for domination of East Asia for increasing capability for preemptive attack on the north through building up missile defense system and military alliance.
Meanwhile, the “Measure Committee for Properly Retaking U.S. Military Base in Ryongsan” reportedly conducted a demonstration in the evening of that day to demand the return of the U.S. military base in Ryongsan.
