Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) — The illustrated manual of Korean martial arts “Mu Ye Do Bo Tong Ji” was recently registered to the memory of the World Register by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
In this regard, Kim Yong Ae, section chief of the Grand People’s Study House in the DPRK, told KCNA:
The manual unearthed in Sonchon County of North Phyongan Province is a military book dealing with the Korean martial art movements in a comprehensive and systematic way.
The director-general of the UNESCO approved the registration of “Mu Ye Do Bo Tong Ji” to the International Register of the Memory of the World Programme on October 30.
It is the first time for the DPRK to have its heritage registered to the memory of the World Register.
Last year, the manual was registered to the memory of the World Regional Register for Asia-Pacific.
