Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) — Sung Hyang Sim, a female football player of the DPRK, was awarded the best player and top scorer prizes in the 2017 AFC U-19 Women’s Championship.
She scored six goals in the first group league match against the Thailand team and in the semifinal with the Australian team and played a big role for the team in winning the qualification for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Sung is small, but has the advantages of sturdiness, fast speed, quick movement and high dribbling.
She, born in Anju City, South Phyongan Province, began football at a juvenile sports school when she was 12 years old.
She distinguished herself in the 2013 AFC U-14 Girls Soccer Regional Championship for the East Region, the 2013 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship, the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and other international games.
In particular, she won public recognition in the 2016 FIFA U-17 and U-20 women’s world cups and the 2015 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship.
