Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) — The Permanent Mission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to the United Nations Monday issued a press statement with regard to the forced submission and discussion of “human rights issues” of the DPRK on 11 December 2017 in the Security Council of the United Nations.
The press statement said:
The fictitious “human rights issues” of the DPRK were brought up and discussed again this year by the U.S. and other hostile forces in the Security Council. It is not only a disregard of the Charter of the United Nations and international law, but also an act of going against the will of the majority of Member States of the United Nations.
Abandoning its mandate for the maintenance of international peace and security and in spite of the opposition of a considerable number of its Member States, the Security Council forcibly discussed the “human rights issues” of the DPRK. That clearly proves the facts that the Security Council has been degraded to a tool controlled by the grip of the U.S. and the credibility of international community in the Security Council fell to the bottom, which gives prominence to the urgency of reforming the Security Council of the United Nations.
If the U.S and other hostile forces think of browbeating the DPRK by the discussion of “human rights issues” in the Security Council, it is nothing more than a daydream that will not be realized forever.
Their despicable plot cannot frighten the DPRK. We brand and strongly condemn the meeting as a desperate act of the hostile forces defeated in the political and military confrontation with the DPRK that has openly risen to the position of a nuclear weapon state.
The Korean people will further consolidate and develop the Korean socialist system centered on the popular masses where the human dignity has reached the highest stage.
