S. Korean Organizations Make Public Declaration on Situation for Peace

Pyongyang, December 23 (KCNA) — The Seoul Headquarters of the South Side Committee for Implementing June 15 Joint Declaration and the 300-person Seoul Peace Council held a press conference outside Kwanghwamun on Dec. 20 and made public a declaration on the situation of 185 organizations in Seoul for peace of the Korean peninsula, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Jaju Sibo.

Sanctions and military exercises against the north can never be a measure for peace on the Korean peninsula but the U.S. escalated the joint military exercises against the north through the involvement of nuclear carriers, Stealth fighters and nuclear strategic bombers and expanded their scope this year, too, steadily increasing the level of danger, the declaration said.
It stressed the need for the U.S. to cease military operations throughout the world and stop the evil cycle of the danger of war on the Korean peninsula.
It urged the U.S. to stop the joint military exercises with south Korea and opt for negotiations with the north for peace.
It stressed that the organizations would strive for lasting peace on the peninsula together with all citizens in Seoul with the movement of publishing the declaration on the situation as the beginning.
